New developments

Well, we received some news today....not the best but also not the worst because we know who is really in control of all of the and it's NOT the Bulgarian government!

Apparently the little girl we are very interested in has had her file moved from one Bulgarian agency to another. That means the new agency has two months to find her a family before her file is moved again. We have some paper work to fill out that will give our agency an advantage when applying for her file in February...but there are still no guarantees.

What do we do now? We pray and we wait...we are getting pretty good at that by now. Please join us in praying that this precious child is loved and well cared for while she waits to meet her family. Please pray that the family God has for her is found as soon as absolutely possible. We are praying that we are that family but, more importantly, that God's will is done. Please pray that if we are not her family that God will provide peace and comfort in accepting that and that He will send our baby to us soon.

You know, the first agency was not able to match her in the two months they had her and, like I said before, God is in control of all of this...not the Bulgarian Ministry of Justice. Thank you again for all of your love, support and prayers.

Possibly a HUGE step closer!

It has been a very exhausting weekend here at the Fullington house. Barry and I were awoken at 2:00 Sunday morning when a car was driven into our retaining wall in the front yard. What a fiasco! However, the Lord gave us an amazing gift this weekend that we will not let a little busted up retaining wall wreck (no pun intended)!

A few weeks ago I was looking through a waiting children's list that was recommended on the Facebook site "Bulgarian Adoptions" and I came across a little face that (oddly enough) reminded me quite a bit of mine and Jordan, my nieces, baby pictures (darker hair and darker eyes but I had absolutely seen that expression before). I requested more info on her knowing it was a huge long shot. When I received her medical history her conditions that put her on the waiting list seemed quite minor and very manageable to me...not to mention her photos are precious and quite sassy...she would fit right in around here!

I sent all of the information over to our pediatrician for his review and comment, all the while praying that God would speak right into our spirits (through Dr. Kirshner) as to whether or not this sweet little face belonged to our daughter. We were already starting to fall in love with her but were afraid to trust our hearts because we just want it so badly. We received the call from Dr. Kirshner Friday evening and his exact words were "I see no reason why you should not pursue adopting this child". Tears...joy...glee...peace....I can't tell you all the emotions.

As of last week, our agency said they could not find any record of her being spoken for and asked if we wanted to move forward with being matched with her. We wanted to wait to hear from Dr. Kirshner (and God of course) but we have since sent an email to the agency asking them to proceed with matching us to her.

Please continue to pray for our family and our daughter...whether she is this precious little girl or not. If she is not meant to be our daughter I know it is because God has another for us. Please pray that if she is ours we will hit as few bumps along they way as possible and get her home just as soon as we can. Please pray that if she is not our daughter God sends our sweet girl to us very soon, and that if we are not her family, she is blessed with the family meant for her...that she deserves, as soon as possible.

Thank you for all of your prayers along our journey...please keep them coming! We love you all and are so grateful for you lifting our family up to the Lord. Also, don't forget that if you still have Christmas gifts to purchase, and you would like to help our baby get home, 147 Million Orphans has some great gift options. You can find our link on my November post to the blog. Thanks again, and may God bless all of you as He so graciously has blessed us.

Yay! I just got the news today that our dossier has officially been files with the Bulgarian Ministry of Justice! It will take them about a month for all of their paper work and review to be done and then we will be "in line" to meet our little princess. Meanwhile, there are some exciting things happening that we really can't share just yet, please just continue to keep our family and our sweet girl in your prayers as we wait for God to put all the pieces into place.

By the way, if you are still hunting for just the right thing for someone special on your list don't for get to check out 147 Million Orphans. They have some great things and you will be helping give our baby the gift of a family at the same time.

Welcome to Operation: Bring Baby Sister Home

Well, here we are, eight months into our adoption journey and we finally have a blog to share this journey with all of you. To make a long story short....after several years of discussing and praying about if and how we should add to our family, Barry and I decided on the path of adoption for our third child...it's a girl! After several more months of prayer and discussion we believe our daughter is waiting on us in Bulgaria. We have been on this path since March of this year and we are finally to the point that it is completely out of our hands. We completed out home study and sent all of our paper work off to Bulgaria in early October. Our file is currently being translated into Bulgarian and the agency there expects to have it filed with the Ministry of Justice within the week. We are well on the way to our long wait to finding out what our daughter looks like and what her name is. We still have a long road ahead but there is some comfort in knowing there's nothing we can do at this point to slow things down!

We are also a long way from having our entire journey paid for. We are beginning our first fund raising actions by partnering with "147 Million Orphans", a not for profit organization based here in Nashville that creates and sells merchandise like shirts, hats, jewelry and such to bring awareness to the need of the orphans of the world as well as raise money to feed these sweet children. "147 Million Orphans" also offers fund raising partnership opportunities to adopting families like ours to help offset the cost of adoption so more children can be brought home to their forever families. Thirty percent of all the merchandise sold in our account goes back into our adoption process, if you are willing to help support us in this way please follow the link below to see all the great things they offer. Your support will not only bring us closer to our daughter but it will help spread the word that so many children in this world still need homes.

Most importantly, we ask that you support our journey through your prayers. Please pray that we are comforted and feel God's peace in our hearts as we wait to meet our little girl. Please pray that God will continue to fill our hearts with love for her the way He has since we began our journey. Please pray that God's perfect timing is as short as possible! Please pray that out daughter is warm and fed, loved and well cared for while she waits for us to come. Please pray that God is preparing her heart for the family that already loves her more than we ever thought we could love someone we've never known.
